Gaucho Bucks – Your Campus Credentials
The Access and Information Desk is still able to make your Access Card while the UCen is closed! This is how:
Students: Send an email to ucen-access@ucsb.edu requesting the card. Please include your perm #. If this is a new card, send your picture (jpeg) to the above address and we will charge your BARC account the $30 new card fee. If this is the replacement of a lost card, the $30 lost card fee will be charged to your BARC account. You may pick up your card the following business day anytime between 11am-4pm M-F at the UCen Post Office (access through the lower level facing the lagoon). You will need to show a photo ID when you pick up your card.
Staff/Faculty/Visitor: Send an email to ucen-access@ucsb.edu requesting the card. Include a picture (jpeg) of the person needing a card plus a recharge form with the account # to be charged and we will send the card via campus mail. We are unable to accept cash or check at this time.
The Access Card is the official identification card of the University of California, Santa Barbara. Issued to all members of our community, it is required for identification, access to essential campus services, and offers prepaid convenient accounts for making purchases on and off campus.
Your Access Card is your key to:
Official University ID
Library Card: Check out Library books and materials with the ID Card you already carry.
Meal Card: Use your ID Card for meal swipes in all University Dining Commons.
Door Access: Access campus buildings, classrooms, computer and science labs.
Event Pass: Attend Athletic Dept. events and certain AS events for free.
Bus Pass: Ride the MTD Bus for free.
RecCen: Use your ID Card for full use of gym facilities and equipment.
Gaucho Bucks: Make prepaid purchases with UCSB's campus currency at all on-campus food facilities, the Bookstore, Student Health and select off-campus merchants. Staff can sign up for convenient payroll deductions.
Your Access Card is THE most important card that you will have at the University – vital for accessing campus services. Please carry your card with you at all times.
